About Me

I'm Akshayan, an undergraduate Software Engineering student at McMaster University with a passion for working with great people and bringing great ideas to life in hope to make someone's day just a little better.

For the Summer of 2024 I joined Scotiabank as a Scotia iTRADE Analyst Intern. A big part of my job is focused on product research and data analytics. I've done research on more than 8 online brokerage tools and I've also automated several manual reporting tasks that focus on client and company data using Python.

I'm also a part of a Software Engineering Fellowship at Headstarter AI where we build 5 AI projects, do mock interviews, weekend hackathons, and much more in order to become a "1% Software Engineer"

Outside of work, I enjoy playing the piano in my free time. I stay active by doing Jiu Jitsu, playing Badminton, and going to the gym. And like most people, I love spending time with friends & family!

  • Conducted in-depth research on over 8 potential features for Scotia iTRADE and developed comprehensive business cases for presentation to the Managing Director.
  • Developed Python scripts using Pandas to scrape data from various online brokerages' webpages, enabling comprehensive competitive analysis, and saving the team 2 weeks of effort each month.
  • Employed web scraping techniques and APIs for data gathering, followed by data cleaning, transformation, and validation, and created interactive visual reports with Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
